The art of weaving on a modern canvas

The art of weaving on the loom (‘argalios’) which has played a key role in Greek households for thousands of years, finally takes its place in contemporary Greek entrepreneurship. Within the general trend of the revival of traditional weaving techniques, the Argalios brand manages to create its own unique impact, by selecting primarily a visual identity which draws its inspiration from the vast tradition and variety of the motifs that adorn Cretan textiles and embroideries.

Love of tradition

The founders, Katerina Kakoussiou and Elias Politis, started their business driven by their zest and love for the Greek tradition and its expression through the art of loom weaving. Katerina, who is an Art Conservator is the driving force behind this effort. She owes her superior weaving skills to her teacher Eri Avgoustidou and the weaving school of the Municipality of Moschato.

Katerina is responsible for the weaving of the products until the final stage and Elias is in charge of the brand communication and promotion of the products. The success and the recognition of their work is the payment for their hard work.
